Dr. Gayathri Krishna

After completing a doctoral degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University in education and psychology, Dr. Krishna founded Brindavan education trust in Bangalore India in the year 1993. Brindavan has been working for children with neurodiversity in education and skilling for life domains. Since then, over 25 schools and twenty thousand children have been supported through Brindavan services for inclusion in the mainstream, by creating awareness, training teachers, and direct remedial services.

Gayathri Krishna has always been interested in how to empower schools, parents, and children while making inclusion the primary purpose. The current goal is to continue to serve the neurodiverse child/ young adult and to enable them to become independent through both skill/life skill training and exploring employment opportunities, to be part of society in a meaningful and mindful manner. Understanding that the new NEP 2020, can actually be a good thing, and not waiting for instructions on implementation, our focus this year is to work with both neurodiversity and first-generation learner communities, so as to address the equitable aspect of education for all. Even if our sphere of influence is small, we hope an expected networking/open sharing /support will have a cascading effect leading to a greater impact.
