Megan McCarthy

Megan McCarthy is an independent brand consultant, designer, and web developer based in Barcelona, Spain. Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design and a minor in Psychology from Virginia Tech and spent the first 10 years of her career working as a brand designer in creative agencies, corporations, and non-profit organizations throughout the Mid-Atlantic. During a two-year-long career break, Megan traveled through North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia while picking up freelance design gigs to continue funding her travels. Since basing in Barcelona, Spain for the past five years, she has worked independently with brands all over the world to create their digital presence and connect to audiences with impact. Working with organizations and individuals all over the world expanded Megan’s experience with the exploding online and social media brand marketplace, and her travels have afforded appreciation to the endless ways humans of all cultures continue to both make a life and a living in our increasingly connected and evolving world. Today she is passionate about supporting others to create a purposeful and fulfilling life through brand strategy and consulting, web design, and mentoring. Megan manages the online experience of the Global Digital Library.
